So You Want to be a Millionaire or maybe just more financially secure? 

Whether you want to be a millionaire or simply to make some extra money you are most likely looking for a business opportunity or biz op to help realize those goals.

The University of Biz is here to help you sort through the veritable jungle of options, "secret", "fool proof",  "automated", and all manner of business opportunity systems. It has been quoted by many an online guru that 86% of all "business opportunities" are scams or at the very least overstated claims of getting you rich on the internet.  I'm not sure where that number came from but we can verify through our own research that the percentage of suspect information is very high. 

So how to begin? Well one of the first things you should do is register for a free student account here at the University of Biz. Students have access to hundreds of free resources, links, documents, how-to, and many of the courses offered for sale out on the Internet in our University Library. If an Internet based business is not what you had in mind, then visit the Home Biz department for other business opportunity ideas that don't require a ton of technical knowledge. 

But before you get to far into the meat of the information, there are a few basic truths you need to consider.

There is no such thing as a free lunch

While there are a pile of free resources out there, some of them are, uh well, let's just say sometimes you get what you pay for. Unless you've got a ton of time on your hands and can figure things out quite well, then consider some of the paid courses and educational resources out there. You don't have to have a ton of money

A bit contrary to the last item but while not free, getting online and into your own internet business doesn't take that much cash. You will have to maintain a web page which you can get for as low a $5/month. You will have to register a domain name, which several webhost providers include in your hosting fees. You do have to have a computer or at least have plenty of access to a decent computer and the internet. We highly recommend broadband where possible, some major carriers offer 'lite' versions at around $30/month. Basic dialup is less than $10/month.

It Ain't Easy

Contrary to what some of the more savory so called gurus will tell you, unless you spend every waking hour it is darn near impossible to start making money right away. Unless you are extremely lucky (or good) getting all the information, services and products lined up usually takes a while. The details are here at the University of Biz, but you MUST be prepared to do some work. As many will tell you, it doesn't have to be hard work, but you do have to work.

During your research on your business opportunity, you will no doubt opt in (that's biz talk for sign up) for a free ebook, article or newsletter. This is an essential part of internet business and not discussed here but from that opt in you will get plenty of emails offering all sorts of "ideas" and business opportunities. Some of these are legit, most are not. Don't be too anxious to flash that card and buy the next, latest, greatest, biz op. Most legit Gurus offer at least 60 day money back guarantees. Don't be afraid to ask for your money back if it doesn't work as expected. 

Technology 

Many so called gurus will tell you "I'm no computer wizard" and that may be true, but you will need to become well acquainted with basic computer operations, web browsers, Office type software (MS, OpenOffice, whatever), FTP clients and other critical information technology. Don't  let it freak you out though, there is plenty of information here at U of Biz that can help you quickly master the fundamentals you need to run an internet business. 

You Can Do It!

If you got this far, then you got a chance. One of the pillars of any business opportunity is the desire to succeed in conjunction with the BELIEF that you can.  Don't give up, never quit, and always believe in yourself.
